The DTM racing series is becoming more and more popular in the USA, both in 1:1 scale and in 1:32 scale. This recent release from Carrera offers a highly detailed slot car that will not only look great, but also perform well in the DTM lineup on your track. Let’s take a closer look.
This version of the car is digital, which can only be ran on Carrera digital track or in analog mode on any brand of track, including wood track. You can visit this link to see how to switch the car from digital to analog mode:

The overall fit and finish on the car is really nice. The tampo printing is clean and crisp and compared to the actual race car, this one looks like a miniaturized version. Carrera did a really nice job on this model.
Here you can see the exhaust detail, disc brakes and various race sponsors and other printed artwork.
I really appreciate the tire manufacturers name printed on the sidewall of the tire. It, too, is crisp and opaque.
A closer look at some other details, including the headlights, grill, and air splitters.
More details include the aerials (antennae), rear deck spoiler, and diffusers.
With the body removed, we see the inner workings of the car; the digital chip, motor, and gearing. This model has the typical 9 tooth pinion and 27 tooth crown gear. Circuitry for the front and rear lights can also be seen. Also of note, a self-centering guide system. The guide stays parallel to the car so that it can be put into the slot quickly and easily.
The underside of the body shows the half tray interior. Don’t be fooled though, there is tons of detail on the other side of this interior tray including a driver, detailed dash; including gauge pod details, and other things such as a roll cage.
One last photo of the car and I think you’ll see why this model is a ‘must have’ for your collection.
