Jochen Rindt, a German-born racer representing Austria, was a key figure in the world of Formula 1 during the 1960s and has left an indelible mark on Formula 1 history. Driving for Lotus, on September 5th 1970, he succumbed to a fatal crash at the Parabolica turn in Monza. Despite this tragic event, he had already secured victories in five out of the first ten races that year, enough to make him the only posthumous World Champion in Formula 1 history.
